In Germany's oldest still working ship lift, Stremafix® back anchoring was used in the working joints of the reinforced concrete.
This building is an engineering monument and is a special tourist attraction. More than 500,000 visitors visit this unusual construction every year. Around 130 m long and 60 m high the new lift covers a difference in height of 36 m in the course of the Oder-Havel Canal. It will enable vessels of 110m long and 11.4m wide to navigate the Niederfinow. With an investment volume of around € 285 million, a European waterway class V-ship lift is to be built in Niederfinow by 2014.
