The Q 6 Q 7 project gives the city of Mannheim a multifunctional quarter consisting of attractive retail, restaurant and office space, as well as rental apartments.
With a project volume of over 300 million Euros, the building site is the largest in Mannheim's city centre since the construction of the Mannheim Palace some 250 years ago.
Completion of the city quarter is planned in 2016.
During the construction work several MAX FRANK products were used to simplify the formwork and seal the concrete working joints:
Around 10,500 m² of Pecafil® universal formwork elements were used for the cladding of the 16 m high sheet piling.
Stremaflex® formwork elements with coated metal water stop and Stremaform® spacers (each approx. 1,400 running meters) enabled fast and efficient formwork of all working joints and crane foundations.
The controlled crack joints were sealed by the metal water stop integrated into Stremaflex® while approximately 700 running meters of Fradiflex® Premium metal water stop were used for sealing in the base slab / wall area.
