Construction of new ski jump K85

A new centre for Nordic skiing is under construction in Saalfelden. The town has commissioned AEP Planung & Beratung to take on the project management and local construction supervision. The renovation of the two smaller ski jumps K30 and K60 has already been successfully completed in recent years, and now the final and largest stage of the project, the new construction of the K85 ski jump, will now run until autumn 2024. A reinforced concrete slab in the outrun area is essential to ensure both the summer and winter operation of the facilities and to guarantee the flawless quality of the structure.

Product solution for working and expansion joint formwork Stremaform^®

Due to the special conditions in the lowest outlet area (flat area), the construction of the reinforced concrete slab began above the transition from the flat area to the outlet mound. The Stremaform^® toothed construction joint formwork and the Stremaform^® expansion joint formwork were used for the correspondingly complex formwork work.

The Stremaform^® toothed construction joint formwork ensures that the concrete cannot run off and remains in the formwork despite the steep substrate. The Stremaform^® expansion joint spacer is installed to allow the individual concreting sections to expand and to prevent stress cracks in the concrete. The engineers provided anchor beams to transfer the existing forces of the sloping reinforced concrete slab.
