A modern office building was built on an area of approx. 3,500 sqm at the harbour in Wismar, Germany. The special location of the new building near the waterfront allows a unique view of the Baltic Sea.
Due to the curved balcony and roof profiles and the double-shell facing masonry, the customer requested our technical support for the installation of MAX FRANK Egcobox® thermal break balcony connectors in the first-floor slab. Approx. 500 Egcobox® units were installed in the polystyrene insulation version, with fire protection, in 80 mm insulation thickness. The exquisite location, in the Baltic Sea harbour, required an increased concrete cover. This requirement was easily met by the Egcobox® product.
The Egcobox® static connection thermally separates an exterior component from an interior component. With the thermally insulating element, thermal bridges can be reduced and heat loss minimized.
