Targeted crack control in concrete walls and floor slabs using crack control joints

Predetermined crack control joints play a decisive role in controlling cracks in concrete components.

In concrete walls and floor slabs in particular, shrinkage cracks can be concentrated in defined areas by reducing the cross-section to a third of the component thickness. This is where coombination of Stremaform® and Fradiflex® for controlled cracking comes into play, which directs cracking into predetermined zones.

There are two variants of the crack control joint: the first enables concreting through, while the second also serves as formwork and clearly defines a concreting section.

Video: Correct installation of controlled crack joints

In this video, we show you step by step how crack control joints are installed and executed in order to minimise cracking in a controlled manner and ensure long-term concrete quality.
