Building smart in the harbor of Ireland

Dublin, Ireland

A project that demonstrates how large foundation heights can be implemented efficiently even under challenging conditions.

In the harbor area of Dublin, a foundation approximately two meters in height was constructed under challenging ground conditions. The Pecafil® Universal formwork system was used as permanent formwork, enabling efficient execution. The product was cut directly on-site and installed without the need for complex additional structures. As a result, both labor and equipment requirements were reduced.

Project advantages at a glance:

  • Simple and flexible processing directly on site
  • Reduced propping requirements
  • Reduced need for personnel and heavy equipment
  • Accurate execution even with more complex geometries

A key advantage lay in the construction method. After pouring the concrete, the formwork elements remain in the ground, while the backfilling of the excavation provides the necessary counterpressure. This largely eliminated the need for additional shoring.
