Water supply system for snowmaking

To increase the skiing fun, the municipality of Ellmau expanded the water supply system for snowmaking by 1,000 l/s. In addition, a new storage pond was constructed incorporating 110,000 cubic metres. Thanks to the expansion, 80 % of the slopes in Ellmau-Going can be covered with snow in just 70 hours at minus temperatures.

In the project's foundations, the universal formwork material Pecafil^® VR6 was used at airy heights. The light weight of Pecafil^® is advantageous - during transport and it is easy to carry and position on site. Furthermore, no special tools are required, as simple tools can be used to shorten and adjust the material on site. Time and costs for stripping, cleaning and returning the formwork are eliminated.
