The Schwabenlandtower, previously known as Gewa-Tower, is the highest residential building with 107 metres height in Baden-Württemberg.
The skyscraper with 192 apartments on 34 floors and an adjoining hotel (company) with about 165 rooms is situated at the north eastern city limit of Stuttgart in Fellbach.
The completion of the building was originally planned in 2016. After the insolvent of the former builder/builders the works were rested until the end of the year 2018. The new proprietor, the CG group, plans the completion of the Schwabenlandtower for the end of the year 2020.
The MAX FRANK distributor Heinz Lindner GmbH which is situated in the direct neighbourhood,
supplies the prominent construction project with products from the MAX FRANK portfolio: spacers, formwork technologies, reinforcement technologies and sealing technologies.
Special attention was paid to the planning of the thermal separation of the balconies. Due to the conical shape of the building, each floor is different. The floors of the Schwabenlandtower increase in size towards the top of the building. The inclined, highly reinforced columns, which run parallel to the façade, had to be taken into account.
The shape of the building, the geometries of the floors and the static requirements required a detailed project solution with MAX FRANK Egcobox® cantilever connectors.
A total of 1,700 Egcobox® elements in various element lengths from 150 mm to 1,000 mm length were designed for the high-rise building. The connection height of the Egcobox® was 280 mm, equal to the ceiling thickness and had a concrete covering of 65 mm or 80 mm due to the balcony geometry.
