To statically and acoustically separate an existing or sheet pile wall from a newly built wall, a cavity can be created using void formers, followed by an air gap (approx. 35 to 50 mm) generated by the subsequent removal of the formers. As opposed to lost formwork with perimeter insulation, a sound bridge and static influence can be ruled out when void formers are used.
