How to: Foundations for tramway tracks on sandy ground

Tracks for trams are subject to lower loads in comparison with railway tracks. Therefore strip foundations are generally adequate, even on sandy ground.
If the fixing anchors have already been cast into the foundations, the rail height can be coarsely levelled - even before concreting.

• Place Pecafil^® permanent formwork units for strip foundations on level and compacted ground.
  
• Install spacers and reinforcement.
  
• Place rails on the reinforcement, paying attention to the exact same height and distances. 
  
• Backfill Pecafil^® foundation formwork to stabilise the formwork. 
  
• Cast the foundations and complete the final covering.
