To insulate external columns, the insulation is often applied after concreting. This is difficult due to the geometrical form of the columns. With a special Tubbox® column formers, the insulation is already integrated during manufacture. The polystyrene insulation forms an optimal bond to the hardened concrete due to its shape.
How to:
Place the concrete reinforcements against the column and connect to the starter bars.
Mount the spacers. Using the round MAX FRANK spacer “Rondo” will make the following mounting of the formwork easier.
Place the formwork with integrated polystyrene insulation over the reinforcement.
Align the circular column vertically and fix with push-pull props.
Concretethe column.
After removing the formwork the insulation will remain fixed to the column.
This can be treated according to the thermal insulation composite system used.
Concrete columns can be produced in different geometries and surface qualities with Tubbox® column formers. They are a time-saving and cost-effective alternative to conventional column formwork.
