Zemseal® installation process - complex building geometries
The execution of corners, upstands, haunches and recesses requires detailed planning.
Once the layer has been properly prepared, the membrane can be installed in accordance with the planning documents. The construction guidelines for the Zemseal® sub-structure waterproofing membrane apply. The following Zemseal® accessories are required when executing the detail points of complex building geometries:
- Tapes
for butt joints, used to attach and membrane damage - Epoxy resin mortar
sealed connection to the bored pile - Liquid plastic
secure waterproofing of transitions, penetrations and connections - Flex Paste
sealing from slab to wall under low-stress - Flex fabric
for the necessary strength
When laying Zemseal® membrane, it is recommended to install the edge upstand in the first step. It is necessary to form internal and external corners in the course of the edge formwork.
The edge detailing is shown in the following installation instructions:
IMPORTANT: To minimize joint seam lengths, component-related sheet lengths and widths should be used in coves, penetrations, underpasses and other recesses wherever possible.
