The durability of reinforced concrete structures is an important goal for developers, designers and contractors. The Zemdrain® Controlled Permeability Formwork (CPF) liner can make an important contribution here - but what is Zemdrain®, and how does it work?
Zemdrain® is easy to use: supplied in rolls, the Zemdrain® Controlled Permeability Formwork (CPF) liner is fixed to the formwork without creasing. The material is only required during concreting and the curing process and is then completely removed.
The effect is as simple as the application is ingenious: The drainage effect of Zemdrain® initially allows air to escape during the compaction of the concrete and the excess water is drained away. During the curing process, on the other hand, a continuous supply of moisture is ensured in the area close to the surface. This results in a dense, hard concrete surface with minimised blowholes. During the life cycle of the structure, this hardened concrete surface finish protects the reinforced concrete from mechanical and chemical attacks. In particular, the penetration of water in freezethaw environments, attack by chlorides under saline conditions and carbonation due to CO2 is reduced enormously. This increases the service life of the concrete surface and reduces the need for costly renovations.
The new Zemdrain® brochure not only impresses with its modern and clear design, but above all with its revised content. It provides comprehensive information on the technical product details, application principles and areas of use of Zemdrain® as well as the various product variants and special applications.
