Egcobox^® Balcony Connector for Precast Elements: Solutions for Every Construction Task

In precast construction, production, transportation and installation are closely interconnected. Protruding reinforcement bars can considerably complicate the transportation, storage and installation of precast elements. To meet these requirements, the Egcobox^® balcony connector is available in various precast variants specifically developed to suit the processes of precast construction.

Various Egcobox^® variants are available for semi-precast elements. While the standard Egcobox^® version results in long projecting reinforcement bars, the FE variant completely eliminates protruding built-in components through subsequent installation.

The F and FO variants integrate the connection partially in the precast plant, significantly reducing the length of protruding reinforcement bars – in the case of the FO variant, they eliminate them completely. This considerably simplifies transportation and installation. In addition, fibre concrete permanent edge formwork provide a clean finish to the concrete elements.

For fully precast elements, transport dimensions and ease of installation also play a central role. Here too, protruding reinforcement can be reduced by using shortened or bent reinforcement bars. The Egcobox^® with the MAX FRANK Coupler threaded connection offers a particularly efficient solution. In this solution, only short threaded bars project from the precast element. The connecting reinforcement is installed and screwed into place only on the construction site. This keeps the transport dimensions compact without compromising load-bearing capacity.
