BMW Welt

München , Germany

BMW Welt is a museum, exhibition and event centre which celebrates the BMW brand and is located close to the Vierzylinder tower in Munich.

BMW Welt was built between August 2003 and autumn 2007 very close to the Vierzylinder tower in Munich. MAX FRANK supplied Stremaform® expanded mesh formwork elements with reinforcement for the reinforced concrete construction working joints.

Stremaform® in the BMW Welt building project:

  • Floor/wall and wall/ceiling transitions: Stremaform® Type 3060 formwork element with rubber water bar guide
  • Underfloor ducts: Stremaform® Type 3000 flat material
  • Floor slab working joints: Stremaform® Type 4040 water stop with double indent joint and rubber water bar guide
  • Controlled crack joint, wall: Stremaform® Type 3530 formwork element for controlled crack joint with rubber water bar guide

Bar spacers and fibre-reinforced concrete single spacers were also used for this project. Fibre-reinforced concrete spacers ensure compliance of the concrete cover before and during concreting.
