For the Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, the concrete letters of the "BEUTH HOCHSCHULE FÜR TECHNIK" lettering were created using Fratec® forming formwork.
Since June 2009, the words "BEUTH HOCHSCHULE FÜR TECHNIK" have graced the Luxemburger Straße in Berlin. This 43-meter-long artwork was built from 173 tons of exposed concrete on the campus hill in the centre of Berlin.
The project called for a high quality exposed concrete surface and innovative formwork for the lettering. Custom-made formwork with a corresponding inner lining was used for the 2.0 m high letters to achieve an optimum shape and a particularly uniform, fine and smooth concrete surface quality.
