MAX FRANK Spain supplied more than 9,000 sq.m. Pecafil® permanent formwork for pile head foundations to expansion of the airport in Santiago de Chile.
The chilean major airport "Aeropuerto Internacional Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez" is located in Pudahuel, Santiago de Chile. The maximum of passengers´ capacity has constantly exceeded for many years now. Until 2020, capacity is planed to be expanded to 30 million passangers on an annually basis to be able to carry in total 45 million people annually. Currently, there are 18 gates, which will be enlarged to 67 Gates in the future. According to this expansion, "Aeropouerto de Padahuel" will become the most important airport in Latin America.
MAX FRANK Spain supplied more than 9,000 sq.m. Pecafil® permanent formwork for pile head foundations to expansion of the airport in Santiago de Chile. The tailored flat material could be bent on the construction site without the use of special machines. Pecafil® was used as permanent formwork, therefore the shuttering, reinforce and concreting can be applied in one single step. Together with Pecafil® Spacers individual pile head foundations can be shuttered on very quickly.
It is also more time and cost-effective, because the foundations could be concreted at the same time.
