Smithfield Stoke: Hilton Garden Inn

Max Frank Ltd. supplied Pecafil® permanent formwork, plastic side spacers and fibre concrete triangular base spacers to the groundworks of Hilton Garden Inn.

amous for its pottery heritage, Stoke-on-Trent is rapidly redefining itself as a major service centre in the Midlands. Working in partnership with Genr8 since 2010, Stoke-on-Trent City Council aim to deliver the new, mixed-use district, providing a seamless link to the existing city centre and the wider area.

Smithfield is an office-led development with mixed-use, residential and leisure facilities. The finished scheme will deliver a revitalised city centre destination, comprising:

  • 750,000 sq. ft of “Grade A” office space
  • 1.2M sq. ft of office, residential and hotel space
  • 60,000 sq. ft of leisure and retail space

The initial buildings have been successfully delivered and are fully occupied by the private sector and Stoke-on-Trent City Council. Work is now underway on apartments and a hotel.

Max Frank Ltd. supplied Pecafil® permanent formwork, plastic side spacers and fibre concrete triangular base spacers to the hotel groundworks. The groundworks consisted of a shell unit located on the ground floor of the site. Associated public realm around the perimeter and a temporary car park also formed part of the works.

Hilton’s award winning upscale hotel brand will offer facilities of a high standard. Owned by Genr8, the 140-bed Hilton Garden Inn will welcome guests in 2019 and will provide a tremendous boost to the region's business and tourism industry.

The hotel development has been designed and constructed to achieve ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.
