Expansion of the Königsegg Elementary School

The expansion was prompted by the legal requirement for full-day care at Bavarian elementary schools; in addition, enrollment at Königsegg Elementary School has been steadily increasing.

The new after-school care center is specifically designed to accommodate 200 children, ensuring seamless care even during school breaks. Due to the elementary school’s cramped, inner-city location, a very compact, vertically oriented spatial solution was planned.
The new single-court sports hall, including the necessary ancillary rooms, is being built in the basement. This explains the high requirements for the structure’s waterproofing.
Reliable waterproofing of the components in contact with the ground—including approximately 950 m² of floor slab and 460 m² of wall surface—was required. To protect against moisture beneath the floor slab, the Zemseal^® sub-structure waterproofing system was installed, which ensures permanent waterproofing of complex geometries thanks to its backflow protection.
In collaboration with Zementol, the ZEMENTOL^® Weisse Wanne PLUS system was implemented.
