Rebend connections enable the force-locked connection of two concreting sections. Due to the reinforcement box, the formwork shell does not need to be pierced, which reduces time and material costs. A rebend connection with an additionally installed expanding waterstop is used when the construction joint is simultaneously subjected to water. Expanding waterstops are cast in concrete in the construction joint and enlarge their cross-section by absorbing water. The expansion pressure arising through the expansion leads to the reliable sealing of the joint against further water penetration.
