A three-chamber system guarantees highly efficient sound protection.
Egcodorn® DND is the only proven shear force dowel system for expansion joints subject to fatigue loads. This revolutionary dowel system is often used in sound barrier applications on railway lines, crane runways or wharfs.
A three-chamber system guarantees highly efficient sound protection. Whilst the outer-wall chambers are filled with a special limestone grain and backed with absorber plates, the reinforced concrete core does not only provide for sound insulation, but at the same time, it also absorbs static forces. Fatigue forces, resulting from wind suction and wind pressure of trains passing by, are also absorbed by the reinforced concrete core.
The Egcodorn® DND is used for transfer of fatigue loads in the joints of the reinforced concrete core.

The ICE Cologne – Rhine/Main Line represents one of the most significant projects for German and European high-speed rail traffic. MAX FRANK Egcodorn® DND was specified to successfully connect the heads of sound-absorbing walls on this project.
The Head Office of the German Federal Railroads was responsible for the assessment and approval of the relevant calculations to achieve a dynamic connection between the precast sections and to accommodate the fatigue loads, resulting from wind suction and wind pressure of passing trains.
