Guarantee longevity with Zemdrain® CPF liner & concrete spacers from MAX FRANK.
When it comes to guaranteeing the longevity of a structure, planning concrete bridges - especially those exposed to chloride attack in marine environments or de-icing salts - can pose various challenges for the design team involved. It is imperative that appropriate and quality products are used and correctly installed.
Fibre reinforced concrete spacers are used to separate reinforcement from the concrete surface, holding the reinforcement in the correct position. Their importance is often overlooked and too often unsuitable and/or non-compliant products are used, but they have a crucial role in maintaining specified cover to ensure longevity and durability of a concrete structure. MAX FRANK provides a range of block and bar spacers for covers up to 100mm, compressive strengths up to 90N/mm² and in various colour options. As well as complying with BS 7973, our spacers can be produced to meet the requirements of exposure classes XC4, XS3, XD3, XF4, and DC4 to ensure compliance with all project requirements. For a quality concrete surface to complement the use of extruded fibre concrete spacers, MAX FRANK recommend the use of Zemdrain® controlled permeability formwork (CPF) liner. Zemdrain® improves the concrete’s ability to resist chemical attack by reducing the water-cement ratio and surface porosity, which limits the depth of chloride ion penetration into the cover zone and prevents induced corrosion.
The high quality surface, produced by Zemdrain®, offers additional benefits such as:
The result? An extremely durable concrete surface that is resistant to all forms of physical and chemical attack, as well as minimising biological growth and graffiti staining.
