🟨 How to: Forming supply ducts in road construction with Pecafil®

In urban areas, the supply & positioning of media ducts in road construction is becoming increasingly important. The necessary media lines, such as connections for telecommunications, are laid in empty pipes to facilitate replacement or renewal.

Concrete casing protects the pipes and cables from damage caused by construction work or unforeseen earth movements. The prefabricated universal formwork material Pecafil® in U-shape is particularly suitable as formwork for concreting due to its quick and easy installation.

How to:

  • Lay the prefabricated Pecafil® U-shaped formwork in the excavation pit and allow for a 10 cm overlap in the longitudinal direction.
  • Lay empty pipes in prefabricated position templates and position them in the U-shuttering.
  • Install necessary reinforcement and fill with suitable backfill material against both sides of the Pecafil® formwork.
  • During subsequent concreting, the filling compensates for the concreting pressure.
  • The remaining backfilling of the excavation and compaction complete the installation.
  • Media lines are laid in the empty pipes and are accessible through appropriate inspection openings.
