Now in its eighteenth year, the CONSTRUCT Yearbook once again features a project article from MAX FRANK; "Delivering student accommodation in Bristol's Temple Quarter"
The Silverthorne development will deliver a significant student accommodation as part of Bristol's Temple Quarter Enterprize Zone regeneration. Plot 6 of the development, led by Studio HIVE and constructed by HG Construction, demonstrates how intelligent planning, collaborative design and engineering innovation can overcome the complexities of constrained urban environments.
The article outlines navigation of site specific constraints, ways in which the architectural character was brought to life through smarter facade articulation with precast thermal breaks, and why offsite precast components offer a replicable model for success. The result was a win on multiple fronts for Egcobox®:
This integration of design and engineering not only streamlined the construction process but also supported the project's environmental targets by reducing material waste and site-based rework.
