A new weir has been built for the flood protection of the city of Forst. The Zemdrain® CPF liner will improve the concrete quality in the long term.
Flood protection for the city of Forst in the Lausitz has been significantly improved with the newly constructed barrage at the Mühlgrabenwehr. The imposing dam on the Wehrinsel was completed after two years in construction. The order was issued by the Brandenburg State Environmental Agency. In addition to the erection of a fish ladder, many nature conservation requirements had to be fulfilled in order to proceed with the construction.
Total materials included:
Zemdrain® CPF liner was used to increase the sustainability of this structure. The quality of the edge concrete zone is clearly improved by the water-deflecting CPF liner. The penetration of pollutants and the growth of algae and microorganisms is reduced and the frost / thaw resistance is increased. The very hard concrete surface reduces abrasion and exhibits a high-quality blowhole-free, homogeneous appearance. It is proven to extend maintenance intervals for the concrete and consequently the lifecycle costs of this structure are considerably reduced.
