Designing tie holes in fair-faced concrete

Tie holes in fair-faced concrete can be used as a design feature in the surface design.

Our recommendations for you on the surface design of exposed concrete walls:

Ensure a void-free edge zone

The flat seal significantly improves the optical quality in the area of the clamping point. A special foam drains excess water and air pockets, ensuring a flawless surface finish around the tie hole.

Choose a shaping plastic cone

Depending on the version selected, the tie hole opening & the respective shadow appearance is demonstrated: flush, set back or shadow gap.

Determine the colour of the closure cones

With our four standard colours or further shades of grey, the clamping points can be closed in a visually appealing way. Coloured closure cones in shades of red, yellow or brown are also available.
