Stay-in-place formwork for expansion joints Stremaform®
Decoupling of concrete components
Stremaform® formwork elements for expansion joints decouple components and absorb their movements within the joint. The elements are used as permanent formwork in floor slabs, ceilings and walls. The formwork elements are prefabricated by us to size, no stripping is required. Reinforcement and concreting can be continued independently and without interruption. We produce the expansion joint elements with the joint insert of your choice: Rigid foam, heat-resistant mineral wool or sound-insulating mineral fibre.
Advantages
Faster and more cost-effective formwork compared to timber formwork
Reliable and functional formwork element
No dismantling or disposal of formwork material
Proven quality: Engineered in Germany for over 30 years
Formwork elements for expansion joints Stremaform®
without sealing
Stremaform® formwork elements for expansion joints are the most efficient solution for creating movement joints in concrete structures.
We produce elements on a project basis and deliver them ready for installation to your building site.
Formwork elements for expansion joints Stremaform® with rubber water bar cage
for sealing of impermeable joints
If the expansion joint is to be additionally sealed, a rubber water bar cage is integrated into the Stremaform® formwork elements during production. The expansion rubber water bar is inserted into the cage at the building site. The built-in expansion joint fixer ensures the correct position of the rubber water bar.
For wide rubber water bars, we recommend a formwork element design in which the rubber water bar is rolled out on the lower part before the upper part is positioned and secured.
Formwork elements for expansion joints Stremaform® with shear force transmission
with integrated shear force dowels
All Stremaform® elements for expansion joints are available with Egcodorn® shear force transmission products.
The following products can be integrated ex works:
Egcodubel for low and medium loads
Egcodorn® for high static loads
Egcodorn® DND for dynamic loads
Formwork elements for expansion joints Stremaform® with sound insulation
for the acoustic separation of concrete components
The Stremaform® elements for sound insulation are used for acoustic decoupling of concrete components. In semi-detached and terraced houses, this avoids the transmission of sound between neighbouring homes.
A rubber water bar cage can be integrated into the element to seal the sound insulation joint. The expansion joint tape is inserted into the cage on building site.
Formwork elements for expansion joints Stremaform® with rubber water bar cage and shear force transmission
for sealing and load transmission
The Stremaform® formwork element in combination with Egcodubel or Egcodorn and rubber water bar cage is an efficient solution for expansion joints which guarantees shear force transmission and sealing. The integrated rubber water bar cage and the already installed shear force dowel accelerate installation on the building site.
The following products can be integrated for shear force transmission:
Egcodubel for low and medium loads
Egcodorn® for high static loads
Egcodorn® DND for dynamic loads

Whether for force transmission, sealing or special component geometries – there is a great deal of variation in the execution of expansion joints. For that reason, the manufacture of this formwork on the building site is often complex, unreliable and time-consuming.
