At a cost of USD 3.0 billion the Jaber Causeway project is one of the largest infrastructure ventures in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The project, named after the Amir who died in January 2006, consists of the main bridge north to Subbiya and a 12.4 kilometre bridge running west, dubbed the Doha Link. With the „Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Causeway“ Kuwait Ministry of Public Works is aiming at creating a connection from northern regions with the densely populated southern parts of Kuwait.
MAX FRANK Middle East delivered concrete spacers for the causeway. Spacers made of extruded fibre-reinforced concrete are dimensionally accurate and have a constant high quality and outstanding chemical and physical resistance. The good bond with the structural concrete prevents the formation of hairline cracks.
