The Egcobox® thermally insulating cantilever connector was used in the creation of a projecting solar protection structure at the State Office of Finance.
The new headquarters of the State Office of Finance with a usable area of 7,900m² was built in Landshut. The administrative building for around 400 employees is located in the immediate vicinity of the densely built-up old town. It includes offices, community facilities such as a cafeteria and a training area and 270 parking spaces in the underground car park.
With an investment volume of approx. 40 million Euros, the resulting building puts the workplace quality at the heart of the design and is characterized by durability and spatial sustainability.
The overall building has 5 floors, but has one storey less in the transitional areas to the neighbouring buildings as well as to the forecourt and the former officers' casino.
The Egcobox® thermally insulating cantilever connector was used for the architectural solar protection structure in the new financial building.
The Egcobox® connects the projecting solar protection structure to the main building shell and a special adaptation for this project was produced in a rapid production run.
Thus, thanks to the excellent cooperation with the structural engineer, 18 different Egcobox® custom solutions were developed with installation heights of up to 30 cm and element lengths of up to 93 cm and these were specially adapted to the static and geometric situation.
The Egcobox® cantilever connectors minimised the resulting thermal bridges between the building and projecting components.
The Egcobox® thermally insulating cantilever connector offers the following advantages:
